This course is designed to give the student a basic foundation in the study of the Old Testament. Attention is given to the historical setting of each book with emphasis on Hebrew custom and ritual. Some time is spent teaching the importance of the Old Testament in an understanding of the New Testament and fundamental principles of interpretation. (3,3,0)

This study is for the purpose of giving the student a working knowledge and appreciation of the New Testament. It is basically a lecture course using the Bible as the text. Some attention is given to the writing, preservation, and translation of the Scripture; the historical and geographical setting of each book; and the development of the Christian movement in the First Century.
