Stages of growth and development for the adult and older adult are explored. Basic mental health concepts are introduced. Students learn to distinguish caring behaviors among professionals, recognize culturally sensitive nursing care and use the nursing process to problem-solve. Adult and geriatric clients in acute and long-term clinical setting are utilized. Clinical and nursing skills lab components are designed to correlate with classroom instruction.
