This course is designed for the licensed health care pro- fessional (nurse, emergency medical technician, respiratory care specialist, etc ). The participants will be able to understand their role in the event of a bioterroristic (BT) event. They will define agents most likely to be used in a BT incident, recognize a BT event, associate signs and symptoms of the most likely expected BT agents, and state what the infection control measures are for at least two BT agents. The participants will also be able to determine the appropriate personal protective equipment for infectious agents, and be able to find web-based resources and ref- erences on bioterrorism in related journal articles. This course meets the requirements for 2.4 contact hours of cont- inuing education through MARLIN (Massachusetts/Rhode Island League of Nursing)
