The longer format allows more time for detailed instruction and learning required for the performance major. Course instruction provides individual guidance in developing performance technique, learning repertoire, ear training and transcription, and strengthening a sense of musical direction in preparing for performance of music. The instrumental department final exam is a major component of the final grade determination. Note: Students will enroll in both PIGT-XXX and PFGT-231. PIGT-XXX will be converted to PIGT-211 once a passing for PIGT-112 has been officially submitted.
