This course will present ways in which these same samples, loops, and programs can be applied to the drum set. Focusing on the work of artists such as Underworld, DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, and others, students will transcribe and orchestrate the rhythms and beats of these artists and then perform these transcriptions in solo, duo, and trio drum set contexts.
