Prerequisite: none Students explore current concepts of nutrition and the application of nutritional principles to weight management. Focus is on healthy meal planning; the relationship of nutrients to optimal health; obesity; and weight control. Other topics include exercise, label reading, and a computerized diet analysis to review personal dietary habits. Offered in the fall and spring semesters.

Prerequisite: WFS-1450 or permission of department chair Students with basic competency in the forehand, backhand, and serve improve these strokes and learn the lob and overhead strokes through practice with the class. They also learn game strategy for singles and doubles competition. Students must provide their own tennis rackets. Course fee: $30.00

Prerequisite: none Students become familiar with basic bike anatomy, types of bikes, and how to evaluate and choose the appropriate bike. They perform basic repair and maintenance and become familiar with the vocabulary and terminology commonly associated with cycling. Students learn the rules of the road and improve their endurance and skill through practice during class activities. Students must provide their own bike and helmet. Course fee: $30.00

Prerequisite: WFS 1510 or permission of department chair Students learn basic rules, skills, and strategies of road racing. They improve their cycling form and riding technique, learn about different types of road racing, and explore training programs and other components of competitive cycling through class activities and practice. Students must provide their own bike and helmet. Course fee: $30.00
