-
3.00 Credits
Prerequisite: none Students undertake a comprehensive study of the theories, concepts, and principles of ethics, as they apply to the every day situations that affect employees, employers, and consumers. Students explore these issues with readings from philosophers, economists, political scientists, and court cases. They become familiar with the range of questions that form the basic foundation of ethics as applied to corporate responsibility, workforce discrimination, distributive justice, environmental impact, risk, and safety.
-
3.00 Credits
Prerequisite: MTH 1080, or placement This non-calculus course is the first of a two-semester sequence in general physics treating the fields of mechanics, heat, sound, electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Together with PHY 1020 and PHY 1010L/1020L, this generally satisfies the minimum requirement for medical and dental schools. Credit for this course may be earned through Advanced Placement Examination.
-
1.00 Credits
Prerequisite: PHY 1010 taken in the same or a previous semester Lab work includes experiments on vectors, equilibrium forces, motion, energy, momentum, and properties of materials, oscillating motion, and heat. Credit for this course may be earned through Advanced Placement Examination. Course fee: $45.00
-
3.00 Credits
Prerequisite: PHY 1010 and PHY 1010L This non-calculus physics course is a continuation of PHY 1010 which, together with it and PHY 1010L/1020L, generally satisfies the minimum requirement for medical and dental schools. Credit for this course may be earned through Advanced Placement Examination.
-
1.00 Credits
Prerequisite: PHY 1020 taken in the same or a previous semester Lab work includes experiments on electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Credit for this course may be earned through Advanced Placement Examination. Course fee: $45.00
-
3.00 Credits
Prerequisite: MTH 1200 must be taken in the same or a previous semester; and PHY 1210L must be taken in the same semester This calculus-based course is the first of a three-semester physics sequence. Topics include kinematics, the laws of motion, force and energy, principles of mechanics, linear momentum, rotation, gravity, and properties of fluids. Credit for this course may be earned through Advanced Placement Examination.
-
1.00 Credits
Prerequisite: PHY 1210 taken in the same semester Lab work includes experiments on vectors, equilibrium, force, motion, energy, momentum, and properties of materials. Credit for this course may be earned through Advanced Placement Examination. Course fee: $45.00
-
3.00 Credits
Prerequisite: PHY 1210, PHY 1210L; and MTH 1210 taken in the same or a previous semester; plus PHY 2200L must be taken in the same semester This calculus-based course is the second of a three-semester physics sequence. Topics include heat, kinetic theory and thermodynamics, vibrations and waves, electrostatics, and circuits and magnetism. Credit for this course may be earned through Advanced Placement Examination.
