Students explore in-depth studies of the music recording industry and telecommunications and music production applications. Offered days, evenings, and weekends during the fall and spring semesters.

Prerequisite: MUS 1120, MUS 1501, MUS 1501L This survey of recording equipment and procedures in studio recording includes basic elements and acoustical background, system signal flow, control consoles, patchbay, and multitrack operation. Instruction location is off campus. Students must provide their own transportation. Offered days, evenings, and weekends during the fall and spring semesters. Course fee: $100.00

Prerequisite: MUS 1140, MUS 1511, MUS 1511L Advanced practical applications of recording techniques focus on individual system elements, gain reduction devices, digital signal processors, digital sound recording, and editing environments. Instruction location is off campus. Students must provide their own transportation. Offered days, evenings, and weekends during the fall and spring semesters. Course fee: $100.00

Prerequisite: none Students receive one hour of private instruction each week for the 15 weeks of the semester. Students develop their technical ability and expand their knowledge of the repertoire representing a variety of styles and forms. All students in private instruction are encouraged to participate in one of the instrumental or vocal ensembles at the college. Qualified piano students have the opportunity to accompany a variety of vocal classes with permission of instructor. Course fee: $250.00

Prerequisite: MUS 1181-1187 Students continue to develop their technical skills and expand their knowledge of literature appropriate to their instrument and to participate in one of the instrumental or vocal ensembles at the college. Qualified piano students have the opportunity to accompany a variety of vocal classes with permission of instructor. Course fee: $250.00
