(also COM, ENG 461; formerly POL 220) Many stimulating and challenging opportunities are available to students to intern in executive and judicial agencies and in congressional offices in Washington, D.C. The aim of the WC placement process is to provide learning experiences which correspond to the goals of the student interns. Responsibility for developing the internships for supervising and evaluating the work of the interns and for housing is assumed by the Center. Included in the program are seminars, academic offerings, symposia and site-visits. (Registration requires departmental approval) (Offered upon request) 6-15 credits

(also COM, ENG 464; formerly POL 224) This program is limited to approximately sixty talented students from the entire state. Interns assist senators in their legislative work. They do research, help in the preparation of bills and resolutions, attend legislative hearings and assist in the preparation of the legislative newsletter.
