3 class hours By using five aspects of language learning...speaking, listening, reading, writing and culture...the student will build upon the skills learned in SPA 101 to attain a greater understanding of and ability to use the Spanish language. Prerequisite: SPA 101 or instructor's permission

3 class hours Discusses electrical control schematics, the information they contain and their use in troubleshooting equipment. Emphasis will be placed on ladder diagram and component identification through schematic symbols. A review of construction blueprints, including their use before, during and after project completion, is also covered. Basic systems include motor and machine control as well as an introduction to instrumentation loops and hydraulic diagrams. Prerequisite: ELS 125

2 class hours, 2 lab hours Provides basic skills required to gain entry level jobs as surveyors or job superintendent assistants. Actual hands-on training in the use of builder's levels and transits, including Stadia, is provided. Prerequisite: MAT 151

3 class hours Introduces building trade students to appropriate methods and materials as found on construction projects. Modularized units of instruction include: site and contractual, foundations, building loads, framing systems, concrete, masonry and roofing.

3 class hours Includes modules of instruction continuing from TEC 111 and including wood materials, wall systems, sidings, doors and windows, energy resources, insulation, energy conservation strategies and heat loss. Prerequisite: TEC 111

3 class hours Introduces construction specifications, project manuals, contract management, basic cost estimating, procedures and scheduling. Prerequisite: TEC 121

Provides the student with on-the-job training at an approved worksite in an occupational field directly related to the student's major. At least 45 clock hours must be completed for 1 credit. To qualify for an internship, a student must have completed 30 credits of course work, have attained a 2.5 GPA, and must be recommended by the department chair and course instructor.

Provides the student with on-the-job training at an approved worksite in an occupational field directly related to the student's major. At least 90 clock hours must be completed for 2 credits. To qualify for an internship, a student must have completed 30 credits of course work, have attained a 2.5 GPA, and must be recommended by the department chair and course instructor.
