Pre-requisite: PSYC 1000 and PSYC 3430. This class is only open to Juniors and Seniors and students enrolled in the Honors program. This is an upper level honors seminar in which we will explore the large body of theory and research focused on understanding the nature and function of the self from a social psychological perspective. We will explore concepts ranging from the development of self-awareness to the neural underpinning of self-related processes.

Staff. Pre-requisite: PSYC 1000, H1010 or 1020. This course will focus on factors which impact women’s health. A review on how women’s health differs from men’s health will provide the basis for more in depth discussion of diseases and health issues that are specific to women. The psychosocial factors which influence health in women will be covered in detail.

This course is designed to familiarize students with current conceptual issues relating to family psychology and psychopathology. The course will focus on research and issues in selected topics in the development of the family. It is intended to give the student a sense of the breadth and depth of some of the major issues in the field of family psychology/psychopathology. The topics include the family life-cycle, family identity, family transitions, intergenerational issues, risk/resiliency factors, and the structural model of families.

A lecture course to introduce the types of questions asked by animal behaviorists, theoretical disciplines posing those questions, and recent research in behavior as related to the environment, social behavior, and reproduction. Note: Designed for PSYC and EEB majors. (Same as EBIO 3680.)

" EBIO 304 (“General Ecology”), EBIO 308 (“Processes of Evolution”), EBIO 408 (“Biostatistics & Experimental Design”), EBIO 368 (“Comparative Animal Behavior”), and EBIO 329 (“Behavioral Ecoogy”) are recommended, but not required." " This course provides students the opportunity to design, implement, and write-up an independent research project related to behavioral ecology." " Research will be conducted on live animals at the Audubon Zoo." " The course will emphasize general principles of experimental design; the collection, organization and analysis of data; and written and oral presentation of results." Topics include evolutionary mechanisms, history of evolution in psychology, and the adaptive nature of sensory processes, language, social behaviors, reproduction and psychopathology. (Same as EBIO 3700.)
