(2 Credit Hours) This course is designed to give the student an opportunity to have hands-on experience with the DCCC FM radio station KINF and the College Cable Television Channel. Students will become familiar with radio, television, and cable technology. Various job opportunities in the electronic media field will be discussed. F, S

(3 Credit Hours) A course designed for the person with no formal experience with photography. Topics include: choosing equipment, composing, exposing, and developing the picture, lighting, filters, and darkroom procedures. The student will expose, develop and print black and white pictures. No color photography. Subject matter reflects photojournalism emphasis. F, S

(3 Credit Hours) A course for students with some darkroom experience. This class is intended to help expand the creative photographic insights and skills. Topics will include: print manipulation, close-ups, lighting control and use of different lenses. Prerequisite: MC 106 or permission of instructor.

(3 Credit Hours) Students become familiar with actual publication production through desktop publishing and offset printing. Subsequent practice and evaluation of fundamental procedures and techniques in the preparation of written and photographic materials for publication. Includes proofreading, editing, layout and design. Prerequisite: MC 101. D

(3 Credit Hours) The course will cover the historical, social, legal and economic aspects of mass communication. Analysis will be made of the mass media's impact on the individual and popular culture. The course will cover the role of newspapers, magazines, radio, television, motion pictures, and the uses of the media in the areas of public relations and advertising. F
