(3 Credit Hours) This course focuses on continued study of the Spanish language and the many facets of Hispanic culture. Students develop all language skills-speaking, listening, reading and writing-as they develop their abilities to communicate in Spanish in everyday situations. The course requires classroom participation. Students will be prepared to hear and speak Spanish 100% of the time. English is used only when absolutely necessary.

(2 Credit Hours) This course will examine aspects of behavior, attitudes, customs, and traditions in the Spanish-speaking world. It will focus on the material and non-material aspects of Hispanic culture. Examples of Hispanic music, art, and dance will be included as well as a brief historical background of some Spanish-speaking countries.

(5 Credit Hours) Emphasis is placed on widening perspectives and expanding cultural ties through on-site observation and interaction with target culture. The course is designed to provide enrichment and professional development opportunities to individuals who undertake foreign travel. It offers the participants an opportunity to learn outside the classroom and to take advantage of materials and locations which are available only to educators and students through foreign travel.

(3 Credit Hours) This course is a study of basic math operations of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios and proportions with applications. It also includes a study of measurements in metric and the British systems and geometry. This will not transfer to a major four-year college or university. (3 Credit Hours) This course is a study of basic math including operations on whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, percentages, ratios and proportions, geometry, and measurements in the Metric and the British systems. Applications to allied health, business, probability, statistics, and right triangle trigonometry are taught to allied health and vocational technical students where appropriate. This course will not transfer to a major four-year college or university. It is designed to upgrade a student's basic math skills. F

(3 Credit Hours) This is a basic course in algebra covering operations on integers and rational numbers, applications of linear equations, scientific notation, polynomials (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), factoring and exponential properties. The course includes graphing in the coordinate plane with analysis of equations and graphs; developing and solving mathematical models including geometry, mixture, percents, and motion. This class meets five hours weekly and will not transfer to a major four-year college or university. Prerequisite: This is a basic course in algebra designed for students who have not had an algebra class or who did not place in Intermediate Algebra or College Algebra on the placement test. F, S

(3 Credit Hours) The course covers real number, linear equations and inequalities, applications of linear equations and inequalities, systems of linear equations, polynomials, radicals, quadratic, rational and radical equations and their applications, polynomials, and rules of exponents. The course develops topic of graphing in the coordinate plane with analysis of equations and graphs with applications. Development and solutions of mathematical models include variation, mixture, motion, work and geometrical applications. This course meets five hours a week and will not transfer to a major four-year college or university. Prerequisite: This is a course designed for students who have passed a basic algebra course with a C or above or students who did not place in College Algebra from placement testing. F, S

(3 Credit Hours) This course is a study in basic applied mathematics as it applies to the technical trades, business and industry and the allied health and agricultural professions. This course covers a review of the basic mathematical operations followed by an in depth emphasis on the solution of practical trade related practice problems. F, S

(5 Credit Hours) This is a mathematics survey course. The topics included are number theory, operations on real numbers, linear equations, ratio and proportions, geometry, and statistics. Problem solving and use of the computer and calculator will be emphasized wherever possible. The course will count for General Studies Degree. S

2.00 Credits
(2 Credit Hours) This course is designed for those students enrolled in MATH 106 College Algebra who want additional support. The class parallels the College Algebra syllabus, but may use a variety of different presentations, including the use of Derive. Concurrent enrollment in College Algebra is required. F, S
