ELC 250: Communications Systems I

(4 Credit Hours) This course is prepared to give the student a basic knowledge of the electronic communications methodologies and techniques used in today's electronic communications media. It is part of a series of courses on the same subject. Although the course is more analytical and descriptive than computational, it is nevertheless very in-depth and requires intense student study and preparation because of the amount of material covered. This course takes the student from basic communications systems overview through application of standard circuits and information processing circuits to transmission and reception via electromagnetic means. Prerequisites: ELC 103, ELC 106, ELC 111 or prior electronics experience and/or instructor approval.

EMT 125: Emergency Medical Training-Intermediate

(4 Credit Hours) The course has been approved by the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services. It addresses information and techniques currently considered to be the responsibilities of the EMT-Intermediate. The program consists of didactic instruction, practical skills training, and clinical observation and training. Prerequisite: To be eligible to participate in the EMT-Intermediate training program, the student must be currently certified as a Kansas EMT. A student should have the ability to read and understand high school level reading material. A student needs to have had or be in the process of getting the Hepatitis shots and have had a TB test.
