This work experience in drafting is culminating experience for the student pursuing an AAS drafting program. It provides a significant opportunity for the student to apply previously learned principles in the industrial employment setting. The student works under the general supervision of a College instructor and the direct supervision of an industry supervisor(s). Evaluation of the student's work will result from the combined observations of all supervisors. This project is under the direction of the College instructor regarding the organization at which this experience is gained, including its product(s) and process(es). A student who has been employed in drafting is to consult the program coordinator prior to enrolling for this course. If the coordinator determines that the student's previous employment experiences make it inappropriate to register for this course, the coordinator will identify an elective in lieu of this course and send a written notice of this course substitution to the Director of Admission and Records to be used for graduation clearance. This work experience requires 160 hours or more of on-the-job activities.
