Emphasis is placed on the multi-faceted role of the architectural detail in the design process. Assignments involve the study of contemporary and historic construction documentation, research into architectural materials and the use of representational media appropriate to the scale of the detail. Projects also demand engagement with the cultural and technological issues explored in previous and concurrent courses.
