The principal topics covered include the following: chromatic chords (modal mixture, Neapolitan sixth, augmented triads), augmented sixth chords, augmented sixth chords used in modulation, chords of the ninth, eleventh and thirteenth. The application of theoretical concepts studied thus far is demonstrated through the creation of an original musical composition. Prerequisite: MUT 233.
