Beginning teachers will learn how to teach reading and writing effectively in the early grades, how to create a classroom climate where literacy flourishes, and how to empower the diverse child in today's classroom. From teacher to the students, the school to the community, all are integrally partnered to develop readers and writers. The emphasis of this course will be on the vital skills and strategies to use to teach reading and writing skills within content teaching.
