Continues the study of the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Topics include: the endocrine system; cardiovascular system; the blood and lymphatic system; immune system; respiratory system; digestive system; urinary system; and reproductive system. Laboratory experience supports classroom learning.

Provides students with a foundation in basic microbiology with emphasis on infectious diseases. Topics include: characterization, classification, and description of microorganisms, use of compound microscope, morphology and fine structure of bacteria, gram positive and gram negative bacteria, reproduction and growth of bacteria, viral diseases, hostparasite relationship, host defense mechanisms, epidemiology, antimicrobial and chemotherapeutic agents, control of microorganisms, and laboratory safety.

(Prerequisite/Corequisite: None) This course introduces the touch system of keyboarding placing emphasis on correct techniques. Topics include: computer hardware, computer software, file management, learning the alphabetic keyboard, the numeric keyboard and keypad, building speed and accuracy, and proofreading. Students attain a minimum of 25 GWAM (gross words a minute) on 3-minute timings with no more than 3 errors. A grade of "C" or better is required if the course will be used as aprerequisite.

(Prerequisite: BUS 1130) Continues the development of keyboarding speed and accuracy with further mastery of correct keyboarding techniques. Students attain a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute with a maximum of 5 errors on a 5 minute timed keyboarding test. Topics include: building speed and accuracy, formatting and producing business documents, language arts, and proofreading. Laboratory practice parallels class instruction. A grade of "C" or better is required if the coursewill be used as a prerequisite.

(Prerequisites: BUS 102 and ENG 1010 or ENG 1101) Continues the development of increased keyboarding speed and accuracy with mastery of complex document production. Students attain a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute with a maximum of 5 errors on a 5 minute timed keyboarding test. Topics include: building speed and accuracy, integrated projects/applications, decision making, language arts, and proofreading. Laboratory practice parallels class instruction. A grade of "C" or better isrequired if the course will be used as a prerequisite.

Emphasizes use of database management software packages to access, manipulate, and create file data. Topics include: database concepts structuring databases, entering data, organizing data, and managing databases.

Emphasizes essential skills required for the business office. Topics include: office protocol, time management, telecommunications and telephone techniques, office equipment, workplace mail, records management, travel/meeting arrangements, electronic mail, and workplace documents.

Emphasizes transcribing mailable documents from dictation using a word processor software. Topics include: equipment and supplies maintenance and usage, work area management, transcription techniques, productivity and accuracy, proofreading, and language arts skills.

Emphasizes an intensive use of word processing software to create and revise business documents. Topics include: creating, organizing, and formatting content; collaborating on documents; formatting and managing documents.

This course focuses on applying knowledge and skills learned in all prior courses taken in the program. Topics include: communications skills, telecommunications skills, records management skills, office equipment/supplies, and integrated programs/applications. Serves as a capstone course.
