The study of the art of filmmaking, with an emphasis on the critical aspects of the study of film as an art form. The course is designed to give students a basic understanding of the production and expressive qualities of moving images. Students will learn to identify different features in the language of cinema and write analytical papers which convey an understanding of the medium.

The content should include knowledge of self and others, development of positive attitudes, family relationships, peer pressure, individual responsibility, goal setting, time management, decision-making, problem-solving, leadership skills, life management skills, employability skills, and career planning.

Emphasis is placed on the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and on acquisition of the fundamentals of applied grammar. Cross-cultural understanding is fostered and real-life applications are emphasized throughout the course.
