Prerequisites: RET 1485, RET 1293. Instruction in the development and physiology of the fetal and neonatal lung, perinatal circulation, neonatal pulmonary disorders, treatment of prenatal patients with emphasis on respiratory care techniques, airway management and mechanical ventilation, pediatric therapy, drugs and dosages associated with the pediatric and neonatal patient.

Prerequisites: RET 1832, RET 1833. A continuation of Clinical Respiratory II. Special emphasis on therapist driven protocols, case management, and hemodynamic monitoring. Students will rotate to rehabilitation, sub-acute and home care settings. Mechanical ventilation management including airway management techniques continues. Neonatal and pediatric assessment is covered, also.

Prerequisite: RET 2876. A continuation of Respiratory Care Clinical III. Students during this final semester of clinical practice may spend up to six (6) weeks in a chosen specialty area, e.g., Emergency medicine, Home Care, Neonatal Care. An overview of clinical practice is offered.

A summation course in respiratory care. Topics include licensure, certification and registration procedures. A review of the two year program with practice written tests and clinical simulations for preparation of the NBRC exams. Special areas such as pertinent calculations, hemodynamics and problem solving scenarios are stressed. Employability skills, including resumé writing and job applications are covered.

This course is an introduction to the four areas of fire insurance, ocean marine, inland marine insurance, surety and fidelity bond, and multiple-line coverage. For each of the four areas specimen contracts are examined. The course covers each area with regard to the perils, property losses, persons, locations, time and hazards.

This course in adjusting examines the principles and practices of adjusting all forms of liability insurance and auto insurance claims.

Prerequisite: RMI 1631 or RMI 1613 This course discusses the general principles of insurance and adjusting, covers risk and insurance surety ship, risk management principles and the insurance contract (limitations on coverage and limitations on amount of loss), the procedure, investigation and reports of adjustment of property losses, and estimations of business losses.

Prerequisites: ENC 1101, MTB 1103 and approval of program director This course provides a selected and planned work-based experience that will provide students with an opportunity to enhance workplace skills through a supervised practical experience related to their career objective. Work site, supervision and objectives are to be approved by the program director. Depending upon course credit, a minimum of 75 clock hours of work site training and supervision are required to complete the practicum. The program director and/or instructor will evaluate student performance based upon completion of course objectives and feedback provided by the work site supervisor. This course is designated to be completed during the last term before graduation.

Prerequisite: BSC 1084C. This course is an introduction to the radiography profession, the role of the technologist as a member of the health care team, ethics, basic hospital and medical terminology, and principles of physical science.

Prerequisite: BSC 1084C. The course will introduce nursing techniques and patient care as related to the diagnostic and fluoroscopic practices of patient care in the radiology department.
