OTH 2840: Level II Fieldwork, Physical Dysfunction 320 hrs. Practicum

Prerequisite: All academic courses completed. This 8-week course provides the students with entry-level clinical skills to work with patients with medical/ physical deficits. Students are assigned to a clinical site, under the direct supervision of an OTR or COTA. Students gain entry-level knowledge of evaluative procedures, treatment planning, interventions, and effective communications and interaction skills with patients and staff.

Prerequisite: All academic courses completed. This 8-week training course provides the students with entry level clinical skills to work with patients with diverse psychosocial deficits. Completion of this clinical experience is not contingent upon completion of the first Level II clinical fieldwork, as they are not insequential. Students are assigned to a clinical site under, the direct supervision of an OTR or COTA. Students gain entry-level knowledge of evaluative procedures, treatment planning, interventions, management of patient care, management of the OT clinic, methods of documentation and effective communication and interaction skills with patients and staff.

This is an introductory class in digital photography. Using Adobe Photoshop, students will integrate the principles of traditional photography with contemporary digital imaging. The "digital darkroom" techniques of scanning, photo restoration, and multiple imagery will be explored, creating imagery unattainable through traditional methods. Students will be encouraged to create basic self-promotional and portfolio pieces. A digital camera with adjustable functions is required.
