Prerequisites: BSC 1084C or BSC 2086C. This course is an integrated approach into the understanding of specific human diseases. The course will cover disease descriptions, etiology, signs and symptoms, and diagnoses as well as treatment, prognosis, and prevention of various diseases involving different systems.

World Mythology is a lecture/discussion/active-participation course that explores myth in ancient literature, drama, art, and music. Central will be the universality, importance, and meaning of myth, as seen in sociology, theology, anthropology, and psychology. Course content will include the hero, deities from around the world, creation stories, and mythical creatures.

Women in Humanities takes a cultural and chronological approach to the contributions and influences of women throughout history, particularly as evidenced in art and culture. Emphasizing female luminaries such as Classical poet Sappho, Byzantine empress Theodora, realist painter Rosa Bonheur, and modern dance innovator Martha Graham, this course may function as a second humanities course, an elective, or as part of the women's studies curriculum.

Learning in the field of humanities through a combination of travel to selected sites and academic seminars/lectures has been developed in conformity with guidelines established by the State of Florida, Department of Education. Typically, participants will engage in intensive seminars prior to the tour, while they will attend on-site lectures by experienced guides during travel. Travelers seeking college credit will be evaluated on the basis not only of participation but also of such academic evidence as projects, journals, and reports. The number of credit hours assigned will be either three or six, determined by the length and intensity of the travel-study experience.

This course presents a fundamental understanding of basic human nutrition. Topics include carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, water, electrolytes, the role of digestion, absorption, metabolism in governing dietary needs, and the changes of nutritional needs throughout life. This course also covers current nutritional issues such as guidelines for dietary planning, weight management and eating disorders, the nutritional care process, and changes in diet associated with disease.

Students study human relations problems as they apply to business and industry. They study how human behavior relates to activities with supervisors, peers, and subordinates. Students do role playing, study cases, and do outside reading for oral and written reports.

Prerequisite: CGS 1100 An introductory course designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge of management information systems. Emphasis is placed on the use of information systems for management decision-making and the impact of information systems on business operations. Topics covered include the role of information systems in business, ethical considerations, communications, electronic commerce, database management, the software development life cycle, and systems integration.
