Determinants of health and patterns of disease and health outcomes across the globe are critically examined. The course reviews the determinants of health status in terms of biology, demography, epidemiology, culture, sociology, economics, and politics. Key concerns regarding reproductive health, child survival, nutrition, communicable diseases, and chronic diseases are examined. health care delivery in developed vs. undeveloped regions of the world are emphasized.
