Three hours per week. May be repeated once for credit when the content has significantly changed. Representative Spanish poets, novelists, and dramatists of the twentieth century, with special emphasis on the turmoil surrounding the Spanish Civil War and its cultural consequences. Likely to be included are such authors as Unamuno, Machado, Valle Inclán, Gironella, GarcÃa Lorca, and Buero Vallejo.

Three hours per week. An analysis of the Spanish-American novel from its origin in the nineteenth century with El periquillo sarnieto to its present with such authors as MarioVargas Llosa, Gabriel GarcÃa Márquez, Julio Cortázar, Juan Rulfo, Rosario Castellanos, Elena Poniatowska and Manuel Puig.

Three hours per week. Must be a major within the College of Fine Arts. Broad based survey course of various theatre arts production practices. Topics may include, the production process, business and organizational guidelines, as well as applied techniques in lighting, stagecraft, and working backstage, including make up for the stage. Does not fulfill Theatre BA requirement

Three hours per week. Designed for both the major and the non-major. Training in the basic elements of the actor's craft: vocal and physical warm-ups; theatre terminology, objectives; and exercises in improvisation.
