4 credits This course will cover the structure and function of cellular elements common to most eukaryotic cells. Also included will be topics covering cellular involvement in tissues, organs and organ systems of multicellular organisms, cellular participation in organismal development, and human diseases resulting from abnormal cell functions. One laboratory a week. Prerequisites: BIO 1001A, 1002A, 1003A and 1004A, or permission of the instructor; a grade of C- or better is required in Introductory Biology courses to take all upper-level biology courses.
