    3 credits This course includes a basic introduction to, and establishment of, a framework that will enable the student to relate concepts of law to the aviation industry. Topics that will be addressed are the history and philoso phy of law in general, and the history of aviation law in particular; intro duction to the American legal system, regulatory bodies and policy-mak ers, economic regulation of domestic aviation, deregulation, legal issues and airport regulation, enforcement and compliance, environmental law and the aviation industry, and a brief introduction to international air law.     3 credits This course introduces the student to the concepts of crew resource management (CRM) and the contributions CRM makes to the safe and efficient performance to members of flight crews and, indeed, any group. Through group projects and in-class exercises, students will develop their own CRM skills and learn how to apply them to varied situations and set tings. While this course is primarily intended for students who wish to become professional pilots, the skills learned are important to manage ment in any organizational setting. Prerequisites: AER 1001N, AER 1002N, AER 1003N, AER 2004N. Offered: 2008 - 2010.

    3 credits This course focuses on high performance aircraft, including an under standing of loading graphs, endurance and performance tables and charts, and advanced aircraft systems, such as controllable pitch propellers, pres surization, anti-icing and turbo-charging. Precision flight maneuvers will be included, as well as FAA regulations for commercial pilots and operat ing procedures under FAR Part 135 and FAR Part 121. A field study com ponent is included in this course. Prerequisites: AER 1001N, AER 1002N, AER 1003N, AER 2021N; All students must hold an instrument rating. Corequisite: AER 2004N. Upon completion of the multi-engine option, students become eli gible to participate in a turbine engine aircraft transition course offered by Flight Safety International, Inc. This course will combine intensive ground instruction and will be completed in Level D Flight Simulators. Interested applicants must obtain prior approval from the Director of Aviation. Students are evaluated Pass/Fail. Prerequisites: FAA First Class Medical Certificate, AER 2061N and AER 3063N or the equivalent.     3 credits This course explores factors that influence the increasingly complex, dynamic, and competitive marketplace within which the international air transport industry functions. It involves the study of the air transport industry's structure, its historic and current regulatory framework, market ing, operations, finance, and the effective and efficient utilization of air craft for the transportation of passengers and cargo. This course provides the student with a comprehensive understanding of the integral parts comprising the international air transport industry. Prerequisite: AER 1002N.
