3 credits This course is a seminar, intended for freshmen, organized around an exciting and contemporary literary theme. Emphasis is on the in-depth study of selected literary works relating to that theme in fiction, poetry, or drama. The course will begin with examples from contemporary litera ture/culture and work backwards to the roots of that theme or genre.
