This course will focus on various authors and texts to explore the comparative and contrasting challenges faced among various ethnic and minority groups, as identified by ethnicity, gender, sexual or religious orientation, and other valid signifiers of "otherness." It will examine the connections and distinctions among dominant and marginalized cultures, as well as minorities' quest for both individual and group identity. This course may be repeated for credit, provided the post-colon subject matter is different. Alternate spring.
