This course will examine social, political, and economic factors affecting women artists from the Middle Ages through today. Majors/Minors only or by instructor consent. Sophomores or above.

Students will be presented with the opportunity to learn about and experience the geography of Japan, the people of Japan, the arts traditions of Japan, and the aesthetic underpinnings of traditional Japanese culture.
