THEA 460: Internship in Theatre

This course provides students the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom to professional and not for profit theatre organizations. Specific requirements of the internship will be determined by the arts organization, the supervising college faculty, and the student. Prerequisites: THEA 200 OR THEA 300 OR THEA 400 Credits: 1 to 4 Repeatable: May be repeated once for a total of eight credits.

This course gives senior theatre majors the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in connecting the analytical academic research process to performance. Significant research, on an approved topic, will result in a substantial paper. Each student's research combined with insightful performance knowledge, problem-solving techniques, and creative thinking, results in a public presentation. This is a full course and 496 must be taken in the fall, followed by 497 in the winter. Prerequisites: THEA 340 AND THEA 336 Credits: 2 Clock Hours - (Lect-Lab): (2-0)
