Assignments will synthesize the theory with the field experience, and develop creative ideas about the propagation of Christianity in the global context. This class begins with final days of the great European empires over 100 years ago and concludes with the end of World War II in 1945. The primary emphasis is to understand how democracy, individual freedom, human rights, and technological progress were nourished and propagated in spite of the resistance of traditional elites and the challenges of Communist and Fascist ideologies.
