    Students create an independent body of photographic work that integrates sophisticated concepts with technical mastery. Through critiques, presentations and discussions, students relate subject matter to historical and contemporary context. Students build expertise in the area of professional development in hotography. Prereq: FINE 1150, FINE 2155, FINE 3160, FINE 3161, FINE 3162, FINE 3171, FINE 3172, FINE 3630, FINE 4195. Photography majors must also have completed the Fine Arts Foundation Core including: FINE 1015, FINE 1100, FINE 1400, FINE 1500, FINE 2015, FINE 2600, FINE 2610. Photography majors and minors must apply to the program to enroll in this class.

    This course is the advanced level study of painting where students are to create an independent body of work that expresses an individual vision and direction based on the cumulative experiences and knowledge gained from previous painting and drawing courses. Note: Students missing the first 2 classes of this course may be administratively dropped. Students will not be allowed to add course if they have missed the first 2 classes. Prereq: FINE 1015, 1100, 1400, 1500, 1600 Painting Methods and Materials, 2000 Life Drawing, 2015 Intermedia, 2200 Painting I, 2210 Painting II: Figure, 2600-2610, Art Survey I & II, 3200 Intermediate Painting I, 3210 Intermediate Painting II, 3240 Abstract Painting, 3300 Painting and the Printed Image, 4100 Painting and Drawing Theory & Practice.     Specialized topics are offered in new multimedia technologies, theories, processes and conceptual thinking. Course titles are unique and changing semester to semester. Prereq: Multimedia majors must have completed all required FINE 2000 level classes with a 2.75 GPA or have passed a portfolio review. Other majors must have permission of instructor as course prerequisites may vary depending on course subject matter. Priority seating is given to multimedia majors. Cross-listed with FINE 5350.

    Set up as a collaborative studio course, students learn to identify problems in the cultural and urban environment and design solutions that address those problems. Through discovery and research students will learn how design can be a catalyst for change. Prereq: Digital Design majors: FINE 3428, FINE 3434, FINE 3444, FINE 3454, can be taken concurrently with FINE 4480, portfolio review or permission of instructor.

    In a studio environment students will explore place in relation to contemporary digital art practice. Through readings, lectures and production of projects assigned, students will create work that addresses the natural, urban and virtual environment. Prereq: Digital Design majors: FINE 3434 and portfolio review. Transmedia: FINE 3434 and 4500. Or permission of instructor.

    Through lectures, studio visits and research, students will engage the profession and examine the role of the artist as a designer. Projects will focus on resume writing, interview techniques, portfolio and general business practices to prepare students for entering profession or post-graduate studies. Note: Priority seating given to Digital Design majors. Prereq: Digital Design majors: FINE 3428, FINE 3434, FINE 3454, and portfolio review.

    Through critique, research, writing and discussion, students will critically explore a topic and develop professional quality visual solutions. Students will create work that expresses their personal artistic vision in relation to significant contemporary and historical artists and practice. Prereq: Digital Design majors: FINE 4400, FINE 4480, and portfolio review. Prereq/Coreq: FINE 4950 or permission of instructor.

    Students explore movement and balance in sculptural work using pivot points and motors. Sound, projection, sensors and mechanics provide cause and effect scenarios in conjunction with knowledge, materials, and techniques acquired to date in the program. Prereq: FINE 1015, FINE 1100, FINE 1400, FINE 1500, FINE 2015, FINE 2500, FINE 2510, FINE 2600, FINE 2610.
