This course will present a way to conceptualize and practice counseling that is time-senitive, informed by outcome, client directed and focuses on the strengths of the client. A fundamental aspect of this approach is that client and counselor are coconstructors of the solution to the client's problem. The philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of solution-focused counseling will be discussed. Students will learn a step-by-step model for implementing this theory.
