The study of the production, regulation, and function of classical hormones and paracrine regulatory molecules. Emphasis will be placed on human endocrinology, but the material will also include discussions of the evolution of hormone families and comparisons between species. Class activities will include histological study of endocrine tissue, videos of hormonal action, analysis of experiments in journal articles and discussions of medical case histories.
