Examines the problems and solutions in seeking employment in the entertainment and mass communication industry. The essentials of successful interviewing: preparing an appropriate resume and identifying and analyzing the various companies, studios, and networks that provide targets for possible employment. Through a series of sessions with established professionals, the day-to-day responsibilities of many of the high-visibility positions in the industry are clarified. (Same as TC 491.) A supervised internship for seniors in the student's major area of interest. Placement is with a theatre-related company in greater Los Angeles where the student will be expected to develop a regular schedule of on-duty hours each week, with frequent reporting to the instructor on campus. The student is expected to work at least three hours per week off campus for each unit of credit. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
