Emphasis on use of high field NMR, mass spectrometry, IR, and UV. Applications of modern separation techniques. In addition to regularly scheduled lectures, students are expected to attend three hours of lecture on use of chemical literature. Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture 1 hr., laboratory 6 hrs.)
