The emphasis is on rotating aerobic forms such as aerobic dance, step, cardio-kickboxing, and aerobic circuit to keep the workouts challenging and interesting. Basic heart rate calculations, nutrition, and workout facts will be covered.

This course includes instruction in rhythmic, choreographed step routines, basic stretch and toning exercises and provides information related to overall health and fi tness.

    General Education: AA/AS Area III(a); CSU Area E2 Course Transferable to UC/CSU Hours: 54 hours LAB This is a fi tness course using the resistance of water for low-or nonweight bearing exercise for improvement in cardiovascular fi tness, muscular endurance, fl exibility and strength. The course includes exercises in deep and shallow water and provides information related to overall health and fi tness. No swimming skills are needed. This course may be taken four times for credit.

Deep and shallow water running will be emphasized, stroke effi ciency, and lap swimming will be included.

Emphasis will be on cardiovascular fi tness, muscular endurance, strength and fl exibility. Progress will be monitored through appropriate fi tness testing. No swimming skills are needed. An optional fl otation belt will be provided.
