The PLC uses a programmable memory to store instructions and executes specifi c functions that include on/off control, timing, counting sequencing arithmetic, and data handling. Ladder logic is used in programming and troubleshooting the PLC. May be taken twice for credit.

The course stresses application of design rules, area estimation, and pin and bus placements.
