A survey of topics in the American healthcare system, providing an introductory understanding in the history of healthcare finance and delivery, ethics in the finance and delivery of healthcare, healthcare economics, healthcare stakeholders and and policy making, and healthcare marketing.

This course provides comprehensive, independent practice experiences under the guidance of a faculty approved preceptor. Required course for all first-semester freshmen interested in the area of Health, Physical Education, and Sport Sciences, HPESS. Course content will focus on the historical perspective of physical education, professional and vocational opportunities, and skills/knowledge needed to be a successful student. C or better required. Fall.
