Includes introduction to local habitats, identification of local animals and plants, ecology and adaptations of desert organisms, principles of classifying and naming species, desert climates and geographical features, and human cultures and impacts. The laboratory includes field trips to collect and study insects in their natural habitats. Some field trips may require an overnight stay. A collection is required.
