Laws governing special needs students, categories of exceptional students, referral and placement procedures, services available, curriculum, instructional, and facility modifications and adaptations, and career opportunities are concepts addressed in the course. The focus of the course will be on the provision of appropriate educational services to students with special needs with special attention given to strategies and practices for addressing the needs of the special needs student in the regular classroom.
