RPM 1010: Introduction to Residential Property Management

3 Credits This course is designed to prepare students to manage multi-family properties. The management of rental property (apartments) is emphasized, but common interest realty associations (CIRA) and other residential property (manufactured and senior housing, single family homes) are also covered. Course topics include: forms and goals of ownership, leasing, human resource management, property operations, resident policies, marketing, budgeting and planning, legal and risk management, and government regulations. Prepares students for entry-level positions as leasing consultants or assistant property managers, as well as for further professional training and certification. Prerequisites: Reading, English and mathematics proficiency.
