Emphasis is on understanding alterations from normal physiology that occur during selected altered health states. Content includes all body systems from chemical cellular to structural, including mental and neurological health. Continued review of the principles of human nutrition is explored, with emphasis on food sources and functions of nutrients for good health and exploration of the medical and chemical aspects of nutrition for the critically ill clients.
