    3 Credits This course is designed to introduce students to what it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur. The content will focus on the tasks required to start, finance, and grow an idea into a successful venture. The course assignments will give the student the opportunity to develop greater self-awareness regarding her/his "fit" with entrepreneurial environments and activities. The student will be challenged not only to generate ideas but also to apply a process of determining the distinction between such ideas and viable venture opportunities.

    3 Credits This course is designed for individuals who would like to have more adept Internet skills as well as for the small business owner who would like to understand more about e-commerce. The course will cover three major topics: 1) Finding the information and resources you need on the Internet; 2) Making yourself known and found on the Internet; 3) Creating small business web pages. Content will include web page browsing, email applications, Listserv, FTP access, newsgroups, and forums.

    3 Credits This course introduces the ways in which an entrepreneur might approach small business management to include business organization, financial planning, marketing, human resources, accounting and financial controls, global economy, insurance and legal issues. Additionally, through active participation in all the aspects of the course, class members will have the opportunity to further develop their management, team building, and communication skills. Prerequisite: ACC112 or permission of instructor.

    3 Credits This course will provide an understanding of the features, limitations and considerations associated with the operation of a microcomputer-based Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) system. Students will gain hands-on experience using the AutoCAD micro-based CADD software, micro-computers, and input devices. Pre/Co-requisites: Computer Introduction w/ Windows-XP, such as CPT117. Recommended knowledge of drafting language. A drafting course such as BPT125 or BPT126 is desirable.

    3 Credits This course will provide the student with the concepts, principles, and techniques necessary to create advanced level AutoCAD drawings. Topics will include dimensional variables, construction methods, custom line types, creation and use of prototype drawings, management of drawing files, advanced use of symbols, menu creations, advanced plotting techniques, and using viewpoint with viewports. Pre/Co-requisites: CAD140, or equivalent AutoCAD training or experience. Either BPT125 or BPT126 Blueprint Reading, or drafting abilities/experience required.

    3 Credits This course will provide the student with full professional level AutoCAD drawing and print management techniques. Students will be introduced to and will develop skills in the creation of 3-D SOLID models. The emphasis will be placed on editing these 3-D SOLIDS using boolean operations. AutoCAD's paper space and viewport settings will be used by the student to display 3-D SOLID objects at various perspective viewing planes. Pre/Co-requisites: CAD140, or equivalent AutoCAD training or experience. Either BPT125 or BPT126 Blueprint Reading, or drafting abilities/experience required.

    3 Credits This course will provide the student with practical hands-on experience in the CADD field. Students are placed in a business or government agency. This supervised and evaluated activity will enable students to apply their classroom experiences in a real world environment. Pre/Co-requisites: To participate in CAD244 Experiential Education, all CADD Certificate Program students must meet the following requirements: 1) Must have completed and maintained at least a 2.0 GPA in the following first semester courses: CAD140, BPT125, BPT126. 2) Must be currently enrolled in or have completed the following courses: CPT117, MAT218, CAD242, CAD243.

    1 Credit This course is designed to introduce a comprehensive approach to the three steps in career decision making. Personality assessments, career interest assessments, career resources, and computer career software will be introduced and discussed. Each student will complete the class with a personal and realistic career and educational plan. Students do not receive associate degree credit for this course, but its credits can be used for financial aid.
