Topics include the concept of money supply, the role banks play in the nation's payment mechanism, the operation of various types of financial institutions, the workings of monetary and fiscal policies, and the functions and powers of the Federal Reserve. Addresses nearly every aspect of banking from the fundamentals of negotiable instruments to contemporary issues and developments within the industry. Covers topics such as the major functions of commercial banks, products and services that banks offer, types of bank loans and investments, and banking regulations and regulatory agencies. Explores the principles of art structure taught through a series of exercises in the visual organization of line, plane, value, mass, texture, shape, space, movement, and color. Emphasis on studio problems and individual solutions. (3 lec)

Through hands-on use of everyday materials, basic elements of 3D design such as volume, mass, weight, light, gravity, form, structure, and space are considered. Students work through progressively more sophisticated problem-solving processes toward creative solutions. (2 lec, 2 lab)

Introduces students to the language most widely used in the adult American Deaf Community. It also introduces students to Deaf Culture, exploring issues of relevance and import in the Deaf Community such as Cochlear Implants, Interpreted Education and Empowerment. Although technical, using videotexts, workbooks, pair practice, lecture, readings and Deaf guests, students experience an eye-opening, energizing and skills building course. (3 lec)
