Students who are undecided on a major may register for the course with the permission of the Department Head. An exploratory survey focused on socializing students to the discipline of communication. The course provides an overview of the fields of mass communication and journalism, organizational communication and speech communication and an in-depth examination of the roles of producers, directors, managers, and journalists in an information society. Emphasis is also placed on developing an understanding of the importance of communication among people with diverse cultural backgrounds.
