Provides a systematic approach towards PC diagnostics and troubleshooting through the use of practical industry standards diagnostic software. PREREQUISITES: CPTR 1010 COURSE OBJECTIVES: Demonstrate knowledge of PC components and terminology. Demonstrate the ability to understand the various functions of PC components. Ability to identify symptoms and problems associated with components, troubleshoot, and isolate problems. Demonstrate the ability to install, configure, and upgrade computer components and peripherals. Demonstrate knowledge of safety including potential hazards to personnel and equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of preventive maintenance including maintenance of products, procedures, environmental hazards, and precautions when working on computer systems. Knowledge of specific terminology, facts, ways and means of dealing with classifications, categories, and principles of motherboards, processors, and memory in computer systems.
