This is the last in the two-year, four-course sequence in general and organic chemistry. It is designed for students with a solid background and strong interest in chemistry. Atomic structure and chemical bonding; redox reactions and electrochemical potentials; chemical kinetics; chemical thermodynamics; nuclear chemistry; and descriptive chemistry of some representative elements and transition metals. Credit will be awarded for either CHEM 2140 or CHEM 2150 but not both. THE PREVIOUSLY CO-REQUIRED LABORATORY MEETING HAS BEEN INTEGRATED INTO THE SCHEDULING FOR THIS COURSE. Prerequisite: CHEM 2110(CHEM I) and CHEM2115(CHEM I lab) with a grade of C- or better in both.
