    ARTV 1161 and ARTV 2121 with a grade of C or better and basic computer skills. ARTV 2920. Not open to freshmen. Arts course (A). This course will introduce students to the various tools and capabilities of the Adobe Photoshop application. The emphasis will be on the use of Photoshop as a digital imaging tool in the context of photographic images. Topics include: color theory (for the computer), image resolution, scanning techniques, edit and "paint" tools, working with selections, using layers and masks, file formats (importing and exporting), and printing. This is a basic class on the use of Photoshop; however, students must be familiar with the use of a computer (accessing file, menu commands, and printing files) and complete ARTV 2121, Black and White Photography.     ARTV 2265. Arts course (A). Study of the 3D computer modeling and animation. Technical overview focuses on different modeling methods as well as various texture mappings to construct a variety of objects with Maya. Visual spatial recognition, sketching, model construction, and rendering the final projects to achieve virtual realism is the main goal in this course.     ARTV 2121or equivalent and some experience with Photoshop. Not open to freshmen. This course is designed for students that are experienced with Black and White printing in the darkroom and with the basic controls of Photoshop. During the term we will scan B&W negatives and use digital file to produce various inkjet prints using fine art paper(s). The emphasis of the course will be the creation of a cohesive portfolio of exhibition quality prints. Faculty: W.
